Pheromones

Pheromones are most commonly administered with pheromone perfumes, but you can also pamper your partner with pheromone massage candles and a bubble bath, to which you add a bath bomb containing pheromones.

The use of pheromones is not just a placebo effect

All living beings secrete pheromones. All animals, from mice to elephants and sea urchins, use pheromones to communicate various messages to other members of their species, most often searching for sexual partners. Even plants attract pollinators such as bumblebees and bees with pheromones.

Humans are no different. Our bodies constantly secrete many pheromones. However, the sense of smell in humans is significantly less acute compared to members of the animal kingdom, therefore pheromone supplements, which increase the amount of signals emitted into the environment so that others can more easily detect them, are increasingly popular.

We emit and receive pheromones entirely unconsciously. You might smell bad to yourself after a busy day at work, shopping for groceries, and working out at the gym, but to your partner, your skin might smell like hazelnuts with vanilla or strawberries with a hint of lemon balm. Why? Scientists believe that with our scent, we convey information about our genetic material. The more it differs from that of your partner, the more pleasant you smell to that person, and consequently, you become more attractive to them. This is an evolutionary advantage, as it results in healthy offspring.

Pheromones are odorless, so we cannot detect them in that way (although many pheromone perfumes have added fragrances, but these do not have as much impact on attractiveness), yet they affect us completely unconsciously. This does not mean that the influence of pheromones is negligible - they can even physically affect our bodies.

In the 1970s, doctors realized that women who are regularly sexually active have higher levels of estrogen in their bodies and are consequently much more fertile than women who did not have regular heterosexual sexual intercourse. Over the next fifteen years, many doctors and scientists wondered why this was the case and how sexual intercourse with a cis man increases fertility. In 1986, they discovered that this happens due to regular exposure to sexual pheromones, which men emit during sex.

Has your menstrual cycle synchronized with the cycle of your best friend, coworker, partner, roommate, sister? This also happens due to pheromones that you both emit into the environment.

The influence of pheromones is indeed subtle, but extremely powerful.

How pheromones enhance sexuality

In creating feelings of attraction, in addition to visual, tactile, auditory stimuli, and scents, pheromones also play a role.

Of course, this does not mean that we can easily seduce anyone we want just by using pheromones and without basic hygiene, but they are a welcome added value to our appearance.

Pheromones directly affect how attractive we are to other people, without the recipients of the signals being aware of it. By additionally using them, you gain a "charm" that no one can pinpoint where it comes from.

There are many different pheromones, and using one perfume with their addition does not necessarily attract all people, but it can increase your desirability to your partner and thus improve your sex life.

Pheromones can also increase attractiveness to same-sex partners. So which pheromone fragrance should you choose if you are homosexually oriented?

Simply: choose a perfume with pheromones that your body naturally secretes. Research has indeed shown that gay men respond to pheromones the same way straight women do: they are more attracted to pheromones secreted by men. Likewise, male pheromones do not attract lesbians as strongly as female pheromones do.

Although research on the functioning of pheromones in humans is in its initial stages, many believe that they work very similarly to other animals, only our reactions to them are not as intense, as we detect them much less intensely due to our poor sense of smell. However, we can increase their detection by adding pheromone fragrances to our own pheromones. This will make their effect faster and more intense.
