Foreplay Differently: Part 1

Ideas for foreplay can be found in a variety of articles, podcasts, games, movies, and books. Many couples practice the same way over and over again, which of course is not wrong. But what about when one gets tired of always the same introduction to sex?

Ideas for foreplay can be found in a variety of articles, podcasts, games, movies, and books. Many couples practice the same way over and over again, which of course is not wrong. But what about when one gets tired of always the same introduction to sex?

This certainly does not mean that one must settle for monotony, but that it is time to discover new ways of satisfaction, pleasure, and paths to arousal. Ideas on how to spice up foreplay are, so to speak, countless.

In the coming weeks, you will be able to discover different ways to enrich your current routine foreplay.

Why is foreplay even important?

Foreplay is for most of us an obligatory part of practically every sexual encounter. Many people need it so that the desire for sex awakens in them. It can also influence the body’s physical responses, which affect the quality of sexual intercourse, such as vaginal lubrication and erection. Ideas for foreplay are sometimes even given by doctors themselves, as they are aware of how much it can help eliminate or ease certain difficulties (e.g. erectile dysfunction).

There are quite a few of us who even like foreplay more than, for example, penetration, which in the eyes of some is supposed to represent the “climax,” the definition or essence of sexual intercourse. With its help, one can discover a lot about their body, hidden desires, unknown erogenous zones, and much more.

If until today you have put foreplay aside, I advise you to change that. In this way, you can elevate your whole experience of sexuality.

Suggestions for different foreplay

If you are tired of classic foreplay, today there already awaits you an idea on how to spice it up. Before you practice the ideas, I advise you to talk as a couple about your current foreplay: what you like, what you like less, what you would still wish for, etc.

Then suggest one of the ideas for spicing up foreplay. As with all other things in a relationship, here too it is crucial to obligatorily respect the consent and boundaries of the person on the other side.

The body’s response to touch

I will begin with my favorite form. One partner lies down and closes their eyes (you can also use a blindfold); the person lying down decides for themselves whether they would rather start lying on their stomach or back. The other partner then slowly and very gently touches the other over their body. While traveling with the touch across the body, they observe the other person’s reactions.

Our body is full of erogenous zones, which differ from person to person. With this technique, one can discover parts of the body they did not even know could bring them such pleasure. People often have a sensitive back, stomach, feet, thighs; for some, it is a pleasant feeling when someone touches them there, for others it becomes unpleasant.

In order to avoid unpleasant feelings, you can also use the so-called traffic light. If the person is touching a certain part of the body and you feel uncomfortable and do not want them to return there with touch, you say red. If you are “on the border,” you say yellow; then the person stops and waits until you give the signal to continue – green – or to remove their hand and not touch you there anymore – red.

Start with discovery

Foreplay is a key part of sex, as it can increase sexual desire, improve physical responses, and reveal hidden erogenous zones. Many couples practice the same ways, which over time can lead to monotony.

Precisely because of this, it is important to discover new ideas for foreplay that can enrich your intimacy. Before you try new ways, talk as a couple about your current routine and desires. I hope that with today’s text I have awakened in you the desire to explore new ways of foreplay.
