Electro Stimulators – A Beginner’s Guide

For most people, electricity and sex do not go together. From a young age, we are taught that electricity is dangerous and not something to play with. Of course, we do not recommend experimenting with dangerous electrical devices to achieve sexual pleasure, but in this article we reveal how it is possible to safely and harmlessly enjoy electrosex.

For most people, electricity and sex do not go together. From an early age, we are taught that electricity is dangerous and that we should not play with it. Of course, we also do not recommend experimenting with dangerous electrical devices to achieve sexual pleasure, but in this article we reveal how electro stimulators can be used safely.

What is electrosex and what are electro stimulators?

Electro sex is a way of stimulating the genitals and erogenous zones with a safe amount of electrical energy. The human body is mostly made up of fluid, so it is an excellent conductor of electricity. By using a sex toy or conductive pad, electricity can pass through nerve cells, creating pulsing, almost vibrating types of pleasure.

How does it work?

For electro pleasure, you need to create a circuit. A simple circuit requires four elements:

1. A power source (base unit).

2. A two-core cable, i.e. a cable with two plugs for connecting to the electrodes.

3. Two electrodes, one to carry current into the body and one to carry it out.

Our body is between the electrodes.

So the current flows from the base unit through the switched-on wire to the first electrode.

Then it passes through it into our body and into the second electrode. Along the way, it stimulates nerves and muscles. It exits the body through the second electrode and returns to the base unit.

What does electro sex feel like?

Electro sex is not about pleasurable pain, or even pain in general. It is a completely new experience, entirely different from “regular” sex; at lower settings, the stimulation is even so weak that you can barely feel it.

Of course, all beginners are advised to start with the lowest possible stimulation and then gradually increase it. The electrical charge stimulates the nerve endings and the skin it touches. Imagine the feeling of someone gently tickling you, and then add a soft vibration to that sensation. Far from pain, right?

The feeling at the next level is slightly stronger and increases the tingling sensation  - just like touching the skin with a vibrator at the highest speed. The nerve endings become more sensitive, aroused, and the stimulation stronger. These settings are often used with insertable toys; users compare the feeling to using vibrating toys, except that the sensation is slightly stronger and the levelof stimulation is higher.

At higher power settings, you feel intense tingling and slight prickling. The stimulation is stronger and can cause muscle contractions.

IMPORTANT: the device should always be switched off before use, start at the lowest possible power and increase it slowly. This way you can discover which intensity suits you best.

Are electro stimulators dangerous?

This is a question asked by almost everyone who wants to try them. The electrical energy released by electro stimulators is fairly low, comparable to a TENS device, which uses electro stimulation to relieve and eliminate pain. However, there are of course some safety precautions:

Do not use electro stimulators

  • if you have heart problems or a pacemaker
  • during pregnancy
  • above the waist
  • if you feel unwell, dehydrated, malnourished, or tired
  • on irritated or damaged skin

Use a water-based lubricant, which will increase conductivity. Do not use silicone-based lubricants, as silicone is an insulating material, and toys can also be made of silicone, which such a lubricant could damage. Also use an electro-conductive gel (for external attachments) to improve sensitivity. Always check that the device is switched off before use.

In the  electro sex toys category, you will find a wide variety of kits, dildos, anal plugs, vibrators, and more. You can try:

* electrodes or toys that you connect to the base device,

* or buy a standalone toy that also has a “built-in” electrostimulation option.

An electro device (unit) is a kind of source of electro pleasure, because through the connected electrodes or toys it releases a gentle electric current that you feel as a soft tingling sensation. The device usually has several outputs (from two to six); this means you can individually adjust different frequencies, durations, waveforms, and intensities of electrical impulses for that number of toys.

Electro toys are toys made of aluminum or another metal that conducts electrical current well. You plug the toy into the electro device. You can choose from various options: a dildo, anal plug, penis cage, gloves, vaginal balls, or a pair of electrodes for solo play (do not use electrodes on intimate areas!). There are also toys with an already built-in electro stimulation function that do not need to be plugged into an electro device.

So: do I just buy one and start?

Yes, but slowly. Electrostimulation is not meant for simply buying a device, a suitable toy, and playing around with the settings. With electrostimulation, you need to explore slowly. The device should always be switched off before use. Then start with the lowest intensity. Check how it feels. Learn to enjoy it. Only after some time should you switch to a higher intensity. Always read all instructions as well.

The most important thing to remember is that the electro sex experience is different for everyone. Some people enjoy it incredibly, while for others even the slightest stimulation is too strong and unpleasant. Start slowly and experiment with new toys at lower intensities, then gradually increase it. Before you know it, you will both be enjoying these completely new sensations and purring with pleasure.
