Video articlesAnal sex - how and where to start? These 5 tips will really help!
Watch the video: 5 tips for anal sex. They apply to both women and men. The first thing people say when I mention anal? 'It hurts.' That's a myth.
Hi, I’m Eva and today I’ve got 5 tips for anal sex. They apply to both women and men. How so? Anal sex can be enjoyed by anyone. And no - if a man wants anal stimulation, it doesn’t mean he’s homosexual or wants sex with a man. The secret lies in the so‑called P‑spot (the prostate), which is easiest to reach through the anus.
What do people usually say when I mention anal sex? “It hurts.” That’s a prejudice. It doesn’t have to hurt - you just need to talk first and prepare properly. Any initial discomfort often turns into something wonderful. And that’s tip number one: talk.
1. Talk about it
Before practicing anal sex, talk it through. Without an honest conversation, sex won’t bring much pleasure. Discuss any issues, obstacles and fears - there’s no point trying something if you’re not both ready.
2. Is anal sex dirty? What hygiene do you need?
Although anal orgasms are known for being very intense, most people don’t practice anal because they worry about hygiene. You can quickly solve this with anal douching. Use plain warm water - never vinegar or other harsh ingredients!
Is anal douching necessary before anal sex? No, it’s not mandatory, but it’s recommended. Toy hygiene is also very important. Toys made of metal and glass are excellent because they’re easy to clean.
With softer materials, such as silicone, there’s a greater chance of tiny micro‑tears where bacteria can linger. If a toy’s material is damaged, it’s best to replace it with a new one.
For cleaning we recommend using specialized sex‑toy cleaners - both before and after using the toy.
And one more tip. During sex, don’t switch between openings (vagina and anus), because bacteria transfer from the anus to the vagina.
3. Which lubricant is best for anal?
The third tip is using the right lubricant. Because the anus doesn’t lubricate itself, you need lube. Use a water‑based one so you can use it with toys and condoms. For solo play, pick a lube made especially for anal sex. These are usually thicker and have a slightly different texture. Don’t skimp on lube. If you need extra relaxation of the anal muscles, choose a relaxing lube. Check:
- Can you use the product with a toy/condom,
- Does the product also reduce sensitivity. Caution! Products that numb sensation aren’t suitable for particularly rough play - you must be very, very careful to avoid injury.
4. Which sex toys can I use?
Whatever you’re playing with - fingers, toys or a penis - take it slow. With toys, you can choose from beads, plugs, dildos and vibrators. For starters, I recommend a small anal plug.
5. Enjoy anal sex!
I won’t be recommending fisting right away - but hey, why not someday. What’s very, very important is that it doesn’t hurt. It mustn’t hurt in any case - whether with fingers, toys or penetration. If you feel pain, it means your anal muscles aren’t ready yet, so it’s better to wait a little longer.
BONUS: Most common questions
Can my partner ejaculate inside me during anal sex? Yes. Of course, make sure they don’t have any STIs.
Can a little poop accidentally come out? Yes, that happens. A little can end up on fingers, toys or the penis. To prevent this, we recommend cleaning out beforehand - i.e., an enema or douche.
Can anal sex still hurt even if you follow all the tips? If it happens, something isn’t OK. Maybe your anus isn’t ready yet. Don’t force it - try fingers, or pick it up again next time.
