Choosing the right condom

When it comes to protection effectiveness, the right size of the condom plays a crucial role. If it's too big, it can slip off during sexual intercourse, and if it's too small, it can tear. The right size also ensures the highest level of comfort, which is very important for sexual intercourse. Men with a thicker or narrower penis than average face the issue of the condom ring being either too tight or too loose. In addition to regular condoms, today you can also buy a whole range of special ones. These have various textures that further stimulate during sexual intercourse. Some prefer thin and extra-thin condoms, which provide more intense sensations. Whichever you choose, all condoms are effective in preventing disease transmission and pregnancy, so choose those that bring you the most pleasure.

Are condoms effective?

With proper use, condoms are very effective in preventing the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. In preventing pregnancy, they are up to 98% effective.

With condoms, it's important to consider the expiration date. If it's expired, do not use the condom. The same applies if you notice that the condom is dry, sticky, torn, or brittle.

Store them in a dark and dry place, and definitely not in a car, which can get very hot. If you keep them in a wallet or purse, regularly replace them, as they are much more likely to be damaged.

Using lubricant with a condom

Whether you're having sex without a condom or with one, it's advisable to use a lubricant, as it ensures sufficient moisture and a pleasant penetration. This applies to both anal and vaginal sex. Some condoms are already lubricated, so you may need less lubricant, or none at all.

Before purchasing lubricant, make sure it is compatible with condoms. Generally, you can safely use any water-based lubricants.

Is sex with a condom really different?

Most people would agree that sex using a condom is different. The most common reason people do not enjoy sex with condoms is that they feel nothing or not enough. This can be resolved by using very thin condoms.

For some, sex with condoms is even better, as it allows them to fully relax - especially if they have sexual relations with casual partners. Besides being more relaxed during sex, you can also use a condom for foreplay (for example, applying a condom with your mouth). If you have problems with premature ejaculation, use thicker condoms, as they provide less stimulation, which can extend the time to ejaculation.
